Nancy Aragon, 82, of Canyon, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Amarillo.  Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Scott Raef as celebrant.  A Vigil will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Nancy Aragon was born on July 31, 1937 in Canyon to Aniceto and Consuela Hernandez.  She married the love of her life, Fred Aragon in Canyon on November 26, 1955; he preceded her in death in 1989.  She retired from WTAMU and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  Nancy was a very particular, independent and hard-working woman.  She was always on the go and enjoyed camping, traveling, shopping and loved word search puzzles, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.  She was very family oriented and looked forward to her Sunday morning coffees each week with her family.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother and was very dearly loved by them all.  They will miss her immensely. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, D.J. Aragon, a brother, Aniceto Hernandez, Jr., and a son-in-law, Alfred Peña.  Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Peña; two sons, Fred Daniel Aragon and David Anthony Aragon and wife, Kristin; six grandchildren, Fred Anthony Peña, Stephen Peña, Stephanie Peña, Fatima Aragon, Kaitlyn Garcia-Aragon, and Kara Aragon; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Dora Oberbrockling and Isabel Barraza; and three brothers, R. David Hernandez and wife, Sandra, Pedro Hernandez and wife, Helen, and Richard Hernandez and wife, Sue. The family suggests memorials be to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, PO Box 59, Canyon, Texas 79015. ~Always in our hearts~
