Obituary for Inez Alfred "Fredo" Pena

Inez Alfred “Fredo” Pena, 65, of Canyon, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019.

Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 2, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at Dreamland Cemetery with military honors provided by Volleys for Veterans. A Vigil will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Brooks Chapel. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.

Fredo was born in Corpus Christi, TX to Inez and Gregoria Casanova Pena. He graduated from Ingleside High School where he was named All State Football Player his sophomore year and held the record for the longest field goal kicked. He graduated with an Associate of Business Degree from the University of Phoenix.
Fredo served in the United States Air Force and worked at Owens Corning for 10 years. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Fredo was a soft-spoken man who was adored by his family and will be greatly missed. He dearly loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and keeping up with them on Facebook. It was very important to him to see them grow and encourage them in their accomplishments. He deeply loved his children and their families. Fredo loved playing golf, hunting and deep-sea fishing. He enjoyed baseball and was a certified Little League umpire. He was a movie buff and enjoyed collecting his favorite titles as well as coin collections.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and Father-in-Law, Fred Aragon.

Survivors include Rachel Pena, the mother of his children; sons, Fred Anthony Pena and wife, Aida, and Stephen Pena and wife Amy; daughter, Stephanie Rachelle Pena and husband, Jose Martinez; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

The family suggest memorials be made to Knights of Columbus, P.O. Box 5644, Amarillo, TX 79117.
