Zona Lee Christopher, 90, of Canyon, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 in Ft. Worth.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 23 at University Church of Christ with Bob Shepard, officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Brooks Chapel.
Zona was born on June 15, 1931in Wellman, Texas to P.E. and Nell Smith Chesshir. She married Jim Christopher in Brownfield on January 26, 1953 and they moved to Canyon in 1956. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2019 after 66 wonderful years of marriage.
She was a longtime member of the University Church of Christ, where she was involved with Vacation Bible School.
She was made famous by her delicious chocolate pies that she made for those in need. Zona spent her lifetime being committed to serving others.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jimma McMindes of North Richland Hills and Penny Coleman and husband Nick, of Louisville, KY; a son, Johnny Christopher and wife Mitzi of Roaring Springs; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren.
