William Johnson

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 14, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery, Canyon, Texas. William Gerald "Willie" Johnson was born on August 2, 1952 in Petersberg, Texas to William and Lily Mae Johnson, Jr. They moved to Canyon in 1968 and he graduated from Canyon High School in 1971. He attended WTSU for one year. He married Lucia P. Johnson in Canyon on November 18, 1977. He moved to Lubbock in 1983 and was employed by Energas for 22 years. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1995, and one sister, Robena Davis, in 2004. Survivors include his wife, Lucy, of Newdeal; his daughter, Detra Marie Johnson, of Lubbock; his son, Dwight Gerald Johnson, of Lubbock; his father, William Johnson, Jr. , of Canyon; five brothers, James Ellis Johnson, of Dallas, Robert Earl Johnson, and wife, DeDe, of Providence, RI, Johnny Ray Johnson, of Amarillo, Randy Wayne Johnson, of Dimmitt, and Michael Johnson, and wife, Karen, of Colorado Springs, CO; and four sisters, Sandra Ann Roston, and husband, Willie, of Cedar Hill, TX, Merry Joy Byers, and husband, Louis, of Birmingham, AL, Norma Lynn Brunt, and husband, Bill, of Houston, and Michelle Johnson, and husband, John, of Cedar Hill, TX.
