Willa Elliott

Willa Joeynelle Elliott was born on February 2, 1918 in Miami, Arizona to William and Helen Bennett. She married Simon Elliott on December 30,1939, and moved to Happy in January 1940, where she farmed and ranched with her husband. Willa was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and established the Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Happy. She was a member of the Women"s Study Club, and also a member of the United Methodist Church. Willa was active in both the church and the community. She is preceded in death by her her daughter, Suzanne Elliott in 1957, her parents, and her brother, Jack Bennett in 2001. Survivors include her husband, Simon Elliott, of the home; one daughter Willa Jane McManigal and husband, Jim, of Happy; 2 granddaughters Christy Johnson and husband, Clint, of Happy; and Jana McManigal, of Dallas, Texas; one great-granddaughter Bailey Johnson, of Happy; one great-grandson Teagen Johnson, of Happy. The family suggest memorials be to the United Methodist Church, Air Conditioner Fund, Box 305 Happy, TX 79042.
