Wes Bourn, 76, of Canyon passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Dreamland Cemetery with David Lough, Brent Adams, and Bob Shepard officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Brooks Chapel.

Wes was born on September 23, 1943 in Amarillo to Edward Wesley and Coily Josephine Burrus Bourn. He was a 1962 graduate of Canyon High School and attended West Texas State University. Wes married Linda Phillips on August 31, 1963 in the Joseph A. Hill Chapel on the WTSU Campus.

Wes farmed with his father for many years. He then drove a school bus while working at the Randall County Feed Yard. He managed Taylor Evans Farm Store and then Consumers Fuel Coop and was a Dekalb seed dealer. He also worked for Randall County Road Department, and forty-seven years ago, Wes was instrumental in forming and operating the Randall County Noxious Weed District, where he remained actively involved as administrator.

He was a lifetime immensely devoted member of the University Church of Christ where he served as deacon and elder. He was also a member of Randall County Junior Livestock Association where he received the Farmer Schaeffer Award in 1978. He also received the Appreciation Award for service and support of extension agriculture programs in Randall County from 1976-2004, the Lonestar Farmer Award, and in 2017, the Randall County AgriLife Extension Top Hand Award. He was an avid domino player and a beloved Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed Western Novels and was a John Wayne enthusiast.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Doyle Bourn, and one sister, Doris Mullican. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Linda Bourn of Canyon; three sons, Edward Wesley Bourn and wife, Paula of Seattle, WA, Carl Wade Bourn and wife, Misty of Amarillo and Lesley Lin Bourn also of Amarillo; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; his twin sister, Wanda Finley of Claude; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home, Box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114.
