Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Dreamland Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at CrossRoads Country Church,14425 FM 1541 South Washington, in Amarillo with Rev. Bob Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Virgil Ray Trosper was born on September 6, 1940 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Cecil and Emma Young Trosper. He married Maxine Fronk on September 23, 1963 in Balko, Oklahoma. He was a farmer and cattleman and also worked for 25 years for Texaco in Perryton. He was a member of Community Worship Center in Perryton for many years, and after they moved to Canyon two years ago, he became a member of CrossRoads Country Church in Amarillo. Virgil loved people, and his main goal in life was for everyone to be happy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Maxine, of the home; a son, Jason Trosper, and wife, Melinda, of Ponder; a daughter, Michele Merkel and husband, Jeff, of Canyon; four granddaughters, Addison and Tori Merkel, of Canyon and Jada and Tana Trosper, of Ponder; a brother, Larry Trosper and wife, Janet, of Denton; and a sister, Donna Sewald and husband, Bob, of Arvada, Colorado. The family suggests memorials be to CrossRoads Country Church, PO Box 50608, Amarillo, Texas 79159-0608.
