Viola Wieck

Services will be at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, June 13, 2005 at St. Ann"s Catholic Church in Canyon with Rev. Phu Phan, pastor, officiating. There will be a prayer service at Brooks Chapel on Sunday, June 12 at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Viola "Olie" Wieck was born on February 11, 1920 in Randall County to John and Helen Friemel Bedenk. She was a lifetime resident of Randall County. She attended Umbarger schools and married Joe Wieck in Umbarger on October 15, 1940. "Olie" and Joe farmed and ranched near Umbarger until 1984 when they retired and moved to Canyon. She was a member of St. Mary"s Altar Society and Christian Mothers in Umbarger and a member of St. Ann"s Catholic Church in Canyon. She was also a member of Umbarger Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Conklin, in 1976, and Rose Liekhus, in 1981. Survivors include her husband, Joe Wieck, of the home; two daughters, Bonnie Herrmann, of Canyon, and Dorothy Wieck , of Evergreen, Colorado; two sons, Willie Wieck, of Etter, Texas, and Steve Wieck, of Katy, Texas; one sister, Gerogeann Rickwartz, of Canyon; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
