Vernon Davis

Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Happy Cemetery with Rev. Tom Stribling, minister of United Methodist Church in Happy, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Happy"s Memorial Chapel. Vernon Ray Davis was born on May 4, 1940 in Groom, Texas to Ed and Hazel Davis. He attended school in Silverton and Happy. He was a "Third Generation" water well driller in the area. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Davis in 1988. Survivors include his father, Ed Davis, of Happy; two sisters, Lillie Shipman and husband, Jerry, of Hereford, Shela Johnson and husband, Roger, of Tulia; two daughters, Theresa Riojas and husband, Raul, of Plainview Hope Scott Steir and husband, Mark, of Highland, New York; stepson, James Scott, of Dallas; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Happy EMS, PO Box 216, Happy, Texas 79042 or to the United Methodist Church, 114 N Floyd Ave, Happy, Texas 79042.
