Travis Cook, 48, of Canyon, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Wheeler Cemetery with Jake Spears, officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.

Travis was born November 21, 1973 in Amarillo, Texas to Ronny Cook and Ann Harrison Cook. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1992 and from South Plains College in 1994. He received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science in 1996 and a Master's degree in Meat Science in 1998 both from Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, he was a member of the Meats Team in 1995 and the Livestock Team in 1996.

On August 20, 1994, he married Marcie Miles in Wheeler, Texas. Travis was a former animal health representative for Merck, where he received numerous national sales awards. He was currently the Southwest Regional Manager for Calf-Tel by Hampel.

Travis served as a former board member of the Canyon Baseball Association. He was a classic truck enthusiast, motocross dad and baseball coach. Travis enjoyed being at the lake and participating in water and snow sports especially if he was with Marcie and the boys. He was also an avid dove hunter.

Travis loved his family and friends dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronny and Geneece Cook and his grandparents, Tom and Pauline Harrison.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Marcie Cook; two sons, Cody Cook and Ty Cook; mother, Ann Cook; siblings, Tom and wife, RaNita Cook, Shelley Lindberg, Tonja and husband, Carlos Young, Dusti and husband, Calvin Kirk, and Mechelle Coate and husband, Dustin Marks; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Cook Family Memorial Fund, c/o First United Bank, Attn: Rori Phillips, 801 23rd St., Canyon, TX 79015. Please make checks payable to the Cook Family Memorial Fund or donations may be made in person at any First United Bank location.
