Tom Randolph, 72, of Friona, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Friona Methodist Church with Duke Underwood and Kathy McLean-Davis officiating.
Tom was born on May 2, 1953, in Miami, Florida to Thomas James and Karen (Burg) Randolph. He graduated from McArthur High School in Hollywood, Florida in 1971 and attended one semester at Miami Dade County Jr. College under a wrestling scholarship. During this time, Southwestern Oklahoma State University coaches saw half of a high school football game on film and offered Tom a full football scholarship to SWOSU. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing in 1976. While at SWOSU, he met Melissa Pruett, whom he married on June 6, 1981, in Friona.
Tom and Melissa relocated to Friona in 1987, where Tom served as the shipping superintendent at Cargill for 25 years. He then transitioned into the trucking industry, establishing Randolph Transportation. He was a longtime, faithful member of Friona Methodist Church for many years and taught Jr. High Sunday School. He also served on the City Council and was past president of Friona Chamber of Commerce.
Family meant everything to Tom, who always supported his children in school sports and coached Little League. He cherished time with his children and grandchildren, especially on memorable ski trips to Red River, NM. Tom also loved animals, with his grand dog, Cooper being a particular favorite.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Randolph.
Survivors include his wife of almost 45 years, Melissa Randolph, of the home; his daughter, J’Mae Randolph of Lubbock; his son, T.J. Randolph and wife, Morgan of Austin; six grandchildren, Konnor, Kynzlee, Kase, James, Ruby, and Violet; two sisters, Doris Ann Wood of Florida and Kathy Jo Stegman of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
