Tim Crump

Tim Crump, Sr., 75, of Canyon, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Family directed services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Hillside Christian Church in Canyon with Jared Peddy, officiating.

Timothy Allan Crump was born January 1, 1947 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Eugene and June (Cotney) Crump. While in college he met, Mary Lou Bevers, and they were married on December 9, 1966 in Follett, Texas. They recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. Tim received a bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in 1970. He then became a student at Texas Tech University in Lubbock and received a teaching certificate in Agriculture in 1971.

Tim was a grounds manager for golf courses in Plainview and Lubbock and then a grounds manager for Canyon ISD. While working for Canyon schools he mentored many young people that worked alongside him.
He was a member of the West Texas Golf Course Superintendents Society, the Texas Panhandle Irrigators Association, and the Lipscomb County Mutual Admiration Society.

Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors with his family and dogs. He loved playing snooker with his childhood friends from Follett. Tim delighted in his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them riding on the lawn mower and working in the garden.

He was preceded in death by his children, Tim Crump, Jr., and Sonya Crump Roden.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Crump of Canyon; son, Dr. Curtis Crump and wife, Lindsay of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Abby Crump and Aaron Crump, both of Stillwater, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, LeAnn Pilger Crump of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son-in-law, Dr. Sean Roden of League City; brother, Stan Crump and wife, Barbara, and their children, Tonna DeBerry and husband, Tommy, and their families, and David Crump and wife, Brenda, and their families.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
