Services for Tom Eck will be held Friday 2 PM, May 5, 2017 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon with Father Robert A. Busch, celebrant and Father Ivan Eck, concelebrant. Thomas Peter Eck was born on October 22, 1961 in Kingman, KS to George and Joyce (Middleswart) Eck. He graduated from McLean High School in 1979. Tom went on to receive a B.S. from Panhandle State University, a M.S. from Texas Tech University, and his Ph.D from the University of Arizona. Tom married Aimee Morton on May 29, 1993 in Yuma, AZ. He worked for Kansas State University extension in Garden City, KS and later Micro Beef Technologies while still in Kansas. He began working for Nutrition Service Associates as a consulting nutritionist in Garden City, and continued to work for NSA following his move to Canyon, TX in 1999 through the present. Tom loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, something he enjoyed sharing with his children. Tom had an unparalleled work ethic but enjoyed having a good time with friends and family. He was a practical joker and the life of the party (once you convinced him to go). He enjoyed coaching his children and supported them from the stands at every game. Tom was loved by many and will be missed greatly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents as well as several aunts and uncles. Survivors include his wife, Aimee; their children, Josie, John, Daniel, and David; parents, George and Joyce Eck; siblings Rozanna Eck Howard, Andy Eck, and Maria Eck Carroll and their families. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity in Tom's memory. An account benefitting the Eck children has been set up at Happy State Bank.
