Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 23 at Brooks Chapel with Donna Johnston, retired pastor, officiating. Thomas Paige Carruth, Jr. was born August 3, 1961 in Canyon to Thomas Paige, Sr. And Norma D. Carruth. Thomas, Jr. was widely known throughout his life as Tom. After Tom graduated from Canyon High School in 1979, he joined Canyon Tire Company with his family as a partner. He assumed the management of the tire store five years later and held that position until the business sold in 2008. Tom's hobbies included gardening, canning, and cooking. He also loved hunting and fishing, and he was an expert snow skier. His older brother, Joe Keith Carruth, of Canyon, preceded Tom in death. Survivors include his parents, Thomas P. and Norma D. Carruth, of Amarillo; brother, Alan W. Carruth and wife, Barbara, of Flower Mound; two sisters, Jerri Thomas and husband, Paul, and their son, Logan P., and Melissa A. Carruth and her daughters, Cortnie and Deidre Grauel, all of Amarillo; and nieces, Stephanie Carruth, and her sons, Gavin and Matthew, of Lewisville, and Alicia G. and husband, Steve Basmajian, of Coppell. Tom is also survived by his daughter, Sherrie Coffman and husband, Lance, and their two children, Montana and Keely, of Levelland. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity The family expresses their gratitude to those who cared for him during the final months of his life, his many friends who made his life joyful, and his associates that made his work a pleasant experience. Tom's family and many friends will miss him.
