Theresia Powell

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Happy with Rick Bloodworth, minister of Church of Christ in Happy, officiating. Theresia Maria Powell was born on December 27, 1955 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to Billy and Helga Hehenberger Paynter. She married Gary Wayne Powell on June 28, 1975. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2008. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She enjoyed mail orders, was an avid animal lover, and was passionate about her dogs. She was also preceded in death by her father in 2005. Survivors include her mother, Helga Becker, of San Antonio; sister, Becky Riley and husband, Joe, of Copperas Cove; brother, Peter Paynter and wife, Valerie, of San Antonio; three sons, Cody Wayne Powell and fiancee, Jennifer Wyble, of Happy, Adam Dean Powell and wife, Susan, of Amarillo, and Jackie Dewayne Buchanan, of Marshall; a daughter, Gerenia Lee Powell and husband, Kirby, of Daytona, FL; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friends, Sheryl Smith and Georgia Dondlinger, both of Happy.
