Terry Callis

Terry Alan Callis, 65, of Canyon, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018.  Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Freedom Fellowship Church in Canyon with Pastor Darren Dye officiating. Military honors provided by Volleys for Veterans and the Patriot Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Brooks Chapel. Terry Alan Callis was born on September 21, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Andrew Lum and Wilma Howard Callis.  He married Janiece Bates in Pendelton, Oregon on September 2, 1978.  He served for twenty-seven years in the U.S. Army as a Lt. Colonel Chaplain, serving three tours in Iraq. Terry enjoyed photography, riding his motorcycle, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Evan Callis. Survivors include his wife, Janiece, of the home; three children, Heather Callis, Nathan Callis and wife, Amy, and Marlena Skarke and husband, Clayton, all of Canyon; four grandchildren, Jaxon, Brooklyn, Kinsley, and Lilly; his mother, Wilma Callis of Lelia Lake; one sister, Carla Wolfard and husband, Ed; five brothers, Merle Callis and wife, Robin, Tim Callis and wife, Mary, Scott Callis and wife, Michelle, Casey Callis and wife, Jeni, and Gabriel Callis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
