Wilsena Grace "Tenna" Witherspoon Reinauer, 84, of Amarillo, passed on January 13, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Amarillo with Father John Valdez as celebrant. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. A vigil will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.
Tenna was born June 30, 1939, to Willard and Grace (Smith) Witherspoon in Hereford, Texas. She attended school in Hereford and married Bill Reinauer on June 30, 1956. Their journey took them to Oklahoma City, Lubbock and Estancia, New Mexico before they returned to Hereford. Tenna was active in the St. Anthony's Women's Organization (SAWO) and played in several bridge clubs. She loved going to football games for the Hereford Whitefaces and Dallas Cowboys. She was a co-owner in the Funny Farm Gift Store for many years with some of her close friends. She was a member of the Hereford Museum, Deaf Smith County Historical Society, BSAF Bible Study and Beta Sigma Phi.
Bill and Tenna had some grand adventures living and farming in Jamaica as well as Egypt where Bill was employed by Western Land Management of Ft. Collins, Colorado. She also worked at Boots and Saddle, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She and Bill moved to Amarillo in 1997. They joined the Amarillo Corvette Club, and it became a family. They loved going on trips to California, New York, Germany, and day road trips with friends in the club. Their guardian angels were busy on many of these trips. Tenna also enjoyed visiting with friends and family and spending time working in her yard.
Tenna was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Reinauer, her parents, and sister Bobbye Riddle all of Hereford, Texas.
Survivors include her three daughters, Teri Hurst of Gun Barrel City, TX, Jan Tucker and husband, Mike of Amarillo, Texas, and Vicki Paetzold and husband, Martin of Ft. Collins, CO; eight grandchildren, T.J. Timberlake and wife, Erin, Tori Mitzel and husband, Jim, Spencer Hurst, Jessica Ekhtiar, Joshua Tucker and wife, Kari, Ashlee Jolly and husband, Matt, Jennifer Lee and husband, B.C., and Brandon Paetzold and wife, Jessica; 12 great grandchildren with 2 more coming soon; brother-in-law, Ed Reinauer, Jr. of McKinney; TX and a sister-in-law, Cissie Larsen of Fairview, TX.
