Tamie Schmidt

Tamie Schmidt, 54, of Amarillo passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canyon with Pastor John Elser, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Tamie was born January 14, 1964 in Le Mars, Iowa to William and Mildred Hamann. She married Brent Schmidt on September 5, 1987 in Amarillo. She was a fine partner and best friend. She worked in food service and enjoyed all the kids at In His Hands Preschool. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was very involved in the women's group. Tamie was an amazing mother, a good cook and a loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lynn Hamann. Survivors include her husband, Brent; children, Theresa Rogers and husband, Dustin of Canyon, Brock Schmidt and wife, Chelsea of Arlington, William Schmidt, of Amarillo; grandchildren, Bailey and Luke Rogers, Sage Schmidt, and one baby Schmidt on the way; brother, Glenn Hamann; and three sisters, Gayle Maney, Joyce Boehning, and Carol Taylor. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, 2600 4th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015.
