Sylvia Reed

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. David Lowrie, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Reed was born on July 20, 1911 in Ellis County, Texas to Jesse and Lucy Warrick Cunningham. She married Rev. O. N. Reed at Tahoka on August 26, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1992. Her husband was a baptist minister and she served alongside him in his ministry in several Baptist churches in Texas and Kansas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. She was also preceded in death by one brother, J. T. Cunningham and one great grandchild, Jessica Thomas. Survivors include one daughter, Naomi Oltjen, and husband, Dr. Allan Oltjen, of Canyon; three grandchildren, two step grandchildren twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial be to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1717 4th Avenue, Canyon, Texas 79015 or Baptist St. Anthony"s Hospice, PO Box 950 Amarillo, Texas 79176.
