Susie Duck, 59, of Canyon, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, she was in her home holding her husband's hand and surrounded by all her children and grandchildren. Memorial services will be 11:00 Friday, May 5, 2023 at Living Water Christian Fellowship with Shane Nease and Shannon Moreland officiating.
Susie was born on October 19, 1963 in Canyon to Jim and Patsy (Fulson) Boyles and born-again January 28, 1986. She attended Tascosa High School. She married Michael Duck on March 14, 1981 in Amarillo, and they enjoyed forty-two years together. Susie enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom until her children were in school and then she began working in IT support for CISD. She then worked for the City of Amarillo in internet technology until her retirement in June of 2022.
Susie will be lovingly remembered for her servant's heart, as evidenced by her constant care of others. She was always available for anything anyone needed, and friend or stranger, she loved anyone joining her family for treasured Sunday dinners, which, by the way, were not optional for her family. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she cherished spoiling her grandchildren. Susie was a devoted member of Living Water Christian Fellowship.
Susie was preceded in death by her father, Jim Boyles, her mother, Patsy Seale, and her grandparents, JC and Faye Boyles.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Duck; her daughters, Melissa McClellan and husband, Seth and Ashley Stocker and husband, Mike; her son, Colton Duck and wife, Alex; eight grandchildren, Ashton and Riley McClellan, Colin, Caleb, and Cohen Stocker, and Becca, Kimber, and Dani Duck; brother, Snuffy Boyles and wife, Angie; and in-laws, Roy and Jenny Duck.
The family suggests memorials be to the Connor House, 2 Cottonwood Lane, Canyon, TX 79015 or to Hope Choice, 6709 Woodward St., Amarillo, TX 79106.
