Jerome Stephen "Steve" Bills passed away peacefully on March 8, 2016 at his home in Amarillo, TX surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born June 13, 1943 in Price, Utah, and no matter where life took him, his heart always called the Rocky Mountains home. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 12 at Bible Believers Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Stocker, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Steve was raised in Montana and Colorado. Steve and Bonnie graduated from Rangeley Colorado High School and were to celebrate their 54th wedding anniversary this July. Steve led a full and adventurous life - living in Colorado, California, Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Texas. Steve's career as an Energy Consultant led him to remote places including the Gulf of Alaska, China and Indonesia, but Steve's passion was the beauty afforded by nature -- high mountain peaks, deep wooded valleys, a sturdy horse and, a dog whose loyalty to him was only surpassed by his own in return. But, above all else, the love and respect for his wife, the pride he had in his daughters and, the happiness he received from his grandchildren had no equal in his life. Steve leaves behind a hunting and trap shooting legacy which included many trophy mounts. He was always pushing on to the next ridge, forever scouting nature's environment and wildlife. He was most at peace in the mountains, and surrounded by love at home. Steve was a member and found great peace and comfort in the Bible Believers Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Charlenia. Steve is survived by his wife, Bonnie Ellen, whom he married July 27,1962, and their two daughters; Corinna Peterson and her sons, Sean and Andrew; and Christina Keller and her children, Joshua, Benjamin and Lauren.
