Services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, July 18 at the First United Methodist Church of Happy with Rev. Tom Stribling, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Happy Cemetery. Stanton King Elliott ""Cap"", 75, of Canyon, TX died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his home. Cap was born on August 11, 1938 in Canyon. Cap graduated from Happy High School in 1956 and married Linda Jean Franks in 1959. He received a Bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in 1962. Cap attended First United Methodist Church in Happy, Texas. Cap managed Farmer's Elevator from 1956-1965. He then owned and managed Elliott Feedyard. He was very involved in the cattle business and was happy buying and selling cattle up until his death. Cap enjoyed the outdoors and taking pictures. He brightened many of the families of the Happy, TX community with photos of sporting events and other activities. Cap took much pride in his son, Wade, and grandson, Marshall. Cap was a very well-liked member of the church and made family his priority. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his ranching knowledge with the kids and teaching them the love of animals. Cap never missed an activity that Wade or Marshall were involved in or a single day at the farm. Cap was preceded in death by his parents, RB and Ruth Elliott, brothers, Ross and Ben Elliott. He is survived by his son, Wade Elliott, and grandson Marshall. Sister, Shirley Payne and husband Tom. Three stepdaughters, Shawna, Chandy and JJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ""Building Fund"" First United Methodist Church, PO Box 56, Happy, Texas, 79042.
