Shirley Stevens

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 25 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Shirley was born November 30, 1927 to William and Aileen Higgins Thurmond. She married George Stevens on January 6, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was the secretary at the First Baptist Church for many years, also worked at MA Bell, WT Switchboard, CR Anthony and Cambridge Store. She was also in Beta Sigma PHI. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dick Thurmond. Survivors include her sister, Joyce Green, of Seymour; sons, Ronald Stevens and wife, Norma, of Tucson, AZ, Wallace Stevens, of Amarillo, Phil Stevens and wife, Pam, of Canyon, Wilkes Stevens, of Canyon; grandsons, Ronald Stevens, Jr., Dale Stevens, Brian Stevens and wife, Danielle, all of Tucson, AZ, Jonathan Stevens and wife, Brittani, of Bushland, Justin Stevens and wife, Donna, of Umbarger, Clint Johnson, of Dalhart, Nathan Stevens and wife, Krystel, of Canyon; granddaughters, Crystal Flowers and husband, Craig, of Spring, Tiffany Stevens, of Canyon, Tonya Lopez and husband, Tommy, of Lewisville, Amy Boyd and husband, Jimmy, of Canyon; great grandchildren, Thomas, of Tucson, AZ, Mason, of Spring, Keelie, of Canyon, Kaegan and Kyler, of Bushland, Serenity, of Lewisville, Dustin, of Umbarger, Gaige, Ayden, Skylar, Kolton, Kaden and Kamden, all of Canyon; sister-in-law, Marilyn Thurmond, of Burkburnett; brother-in-law, Jim Hill and wife, Sue, of Lubbock; and many nieces and nephews.
