Shirley Peggram

Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Lake View Cemetery in Floydada, TX. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Mike Pennington and Wes Wellborn, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Shirley was born March 24, 1934 in Lakeview Community, Floyd County, Texas to Holt and Lena Bishop. She graduated from Crosbyton High School and then attended West Texas State University here in Canyon. Shirley lived in Plainview for 12 years where she worked at City National Bank. In 1973, she and her husband, Jim, moved to Castro County. They resided there for 17 years and Shirley worked as a teacher's aide at Nazareth schools. In 1999, they moved to Canyon and became members of the First Baptist Church, where she the played organ and piano for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Howard Gene Bishop. She is survived by her husband, Jim Peggram, of Canyon; two daughters, Kristi Pennington, of Hendersonville, TN, Kimberly Wellborn, of Waco; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
