Shirley Lundegreen

Shirley Lundegreen, 89, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Memorial services will be at 4:30 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Family Life Church in Amarillo with Robbie Ashlock, pastor, officiating.

Shirley was born on November 29, 1934 in Centerville, Iowa to Creed and Letha (Winans) Patterson. She married Ace Howard Lundegreen on April 4, 1952 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, and they had 72 wonderful years together.

Shirley was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Mobeetie and will be remembered by her family and friends as a mighty prayer warrior. She professed her love for Jesus to everyone and was adamant about making sure each member of her family knew the Lord personally. She had a lovely singing voice and was a wonderful cook and homemaker. Her family will forever remember her famous fried chicken and delicious biscuits and gravy. She was lovingly known for her big heart and her deep love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Pat Patterson, Martha Sherrile, Eva Barker, and Francis; two daughters, Joretta and JoDonna; daughter-in-law, DeeDee Lundegreen; and son-in-law, Gerald Swindell.

Survivors include her husband, Ace Howard Lundegreen; four children, Carmen Swindell, Vicki Pettit and husband, Rick, Lucky Lundegreen and wife, Shannon, and Peggy Walker and husband, Gary; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 16 great, great grandchildren.
