Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Ellis Funeral Chapel in Midland, Texas. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home, with local arrangements by Brooks Funeral Directors. Shirley Perkins Church was born on August 17, 1935 in Fisher County, Texas to Cecil and Lillian Lee Perkins. She graduated from Roby High School and attended McMurry University in Abilene. She married Fred Church on April 5, 1958 in Stanton, Texas. They lived in Friona for a number of years where she worked in the library for Friona ISD. They lived in Sweetwater for seventeen years before moving to Canyon in 2014. Shirley loved her family and enjoyed music, arts, and crafts. She was a member of Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Shirley was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Survivors include her husband, Fred Church, of Canyon; two sons, Perry Church and wife, Lisa, of Canyon and Dean Church and wife, Wina, of Lubbock; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters, Clarice McCain, of Midland, Minta Eury, of Duncanville. The family suggests memorials to the patients of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, in care of Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
