Sharon Sue Simms Covault

November 12, 1942 — October 31, 2020

Our precious Nonnie passed from this life to eternal life on Saturday, October 31st, 2020 at home, in Canyon Texas. Words cannot express the love that we all had for her and how much she will be missed. Her zest for life and the never-ending love for her grandbabies, great-grandbabies, and beloved Kirby, will always be remembered.

Mom was born on November 12th, 1942 in California to Eddie Williams and James Shelton. She was lovingly raised by her Grandmother, Alline Brown, a.k.a. Nonnie. She met Larry Simms at Texas A&M and they married in the summer of 1962. They had two daughters, Laura and Amy.

Throughout the years, she was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. Grandchildren in order of birth, Cole (MTTD), Emily, Garrett, Ryan, Sage, and Mallerie. They, without a doubt, were her pride and joy. In the past 5 years she gained two more granddaughters, Heather & Taylor, and a son, Joaquin. Three more grand children were added to our family, C.J., Sebastian, and Santiago. Last but not least, and her proudest moments to date, little Harper and Hunter joined our family and made her a great-grandmother.

Later in life, mom reconnected with her high-school sweetheart, Philip Covault. They married in the summer of 2015. Our family gatherings were always fun and exciting! Philip and mom knew just how to make great memories with every visit! Kirby came into their lives and mom loved that baby with the whole of her heart. He was a blessing to both mom and Philip.

Mom had many dear friends but none like her beloved Betsy. They met teaching Bible school at Westminster Church in 1968. I was 2 years old and as far back as I can remember, Betsy has been an integral part of mom's life and our family. The two of them were like being around Lucy and Ethel.

Sharon's life will be celebrated and remembered in a private family service. Her beautiful soul will be eternally missed. In leu of flowers, we know that mom would be so grateful to have everyone make an unexpected/unsolicited act of kindness by helping out a child in need or donating to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Let them know, Nonnie sent you.

Lots of love and blessings ~
