Salomon "Sully" Valverde

Salomon "Sully" Cleto Valverde, 46, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024. Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon with Father Scott Raef as celebrant. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. A vigil will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Brooks Chapel with a Rosary to follow.

Salomon was born on May 21, 1978 in Amarillo to Francisco C. and Rosa (Ortega) Valverde. He was raised in Canyon and was a 1996 graduate of Canyon High School. He attended KD Studio Actor Conservatory and Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy. In 1998, he moved to Dallas and lived there for most of his adult life, where he worked for Osgood O'Neill Hair Salon as a professional hairstylist and educator. The highlight of his life was working alongside his brother, Damian.

Salomon loved his family dearly and adored his daughter, Jett. Spending time with his family and friends playing board games and corn hole was a favorite of his. He was a natural storyteller and was lovingly known for being a prankster. His witty and clever personality naturally drew people to him. He loved running, dancing, taking pictures, and his family thoroughly enjoyed his bruschetta and avocado toast. He also loved watching college football and was an avid University of Texas Longhorns fan. Go Horns! He made friends easily and was a true friend to all. As his brother described him, 'He was gentle and kind. Compassionate. He loved with his whole heart and unconditionally. Always put his family and friends first. Passionate about his gift with hair. Quoting Salomon: "He loved making people feel beautiful."

Salomon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francisco Valverde, Sr. and Lucille Valverde, and his Tía Goya Rodriguez.

Survivors include his maternal grandparents, Manuel and Oralia Ortega; his parents, Frank and Rosa Valverde; daughter, Scarlett Jett Valverde; twin brother, Damian Valverde; sister, Elisa Hemmerich and husband, Jason; nephews and nieces, Cash, Knox, Asa, and Goldie Valverde and Viviana, Vance, Hawk, and Hollis Hemmerich; his fiancé, Lauren; and many beloved Tíos, Tías, and primos.
