Sallie Allen

Survivors include one sister, Julia Long, of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews; two cousins, George Dowlen, of Amarilloand Marie Manley, of Canyon. Sallie B. Allen, 102, of Canyon died Friday, March 29, 2002. Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 2, 2002 in Dreamland Cemetery with Rev. David Lowrie, officiating. Sallie B. Allen was born December 8, 1899 to Fulton and Lucy Clem Dowlen Brown in Umbarger, Texas. She graduated from Canyon High School, and received her BA degree in education from West Texas Normal. She taught for several years and then was a self employed insurance agent. She married Clay Allen in Canadian, Texas. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Charley and Herman Brown, three sisters, Docia Borders, Gracie Palmer, and Corine Camp, and one niece, Carmen Camp.
