Ruth Townsend

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Southlawn Assembly of God Church in Amarillo with Pastor Jerad Middaugh, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Ruth Imogene Townsend was born April 3, 1928 to Matt & Emma Lee Dudley in Sudan, Texas. She married Billy B. Townsend, the love of her life, on June 3, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. Imogene loved life, family, and most of all her Lord. Among the many joys she had in this life, nothing brought her more pleasure than her family. Some of her fondest memories are the camping trips. She was never happier than sitting around the campfire with her children and grandchildren. From the beginning she centered her life around Billy Bob, Janice, Kathy, David and Tami and their children. Her Legacy will live forever in the many lives that she touched. She loved the Lord and served her church for her entire life. She is survived by her husband Bill, four children, Janice Middaugh, and husband, Jerald, Kathy Yancey and husband, Richard, David Townsend and wife, Debbie, Tami Hathcock and husband, Danny. She had six grandchildren, Jerad Middaugh and wife, Felecia, Jeanna Lilley, and husband, David, Monique Baddick and husband of Wyalusing, Pa., Mike, Zach Townsend, Julie Hathcock and Doug Hathcock. She has 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Opal Pearson, a sister-in-law, Dot Smith, and a host of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Southlawn Assembly of God Church, 4300 S. Bowie, Amarillo, TX 79110.
