Ruth Prichard

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 8 at the First Baptist Church with Gene Jones, officiating. Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery. Ruth Prichard was born January 20, 1925 in Emhouse, Texas to Joseph and Susan O'Neal Sharpley. She graduated from Corsicana High School at the age of 16. After high school she traveled to Washington D.C. to work at The Pentagon. She returned to Texas after a few years at The Pentagon and attended Wayland Baptist University where she received her bachelor's degree. Ruth married Harold Prichard in 1952 at Canyon. She worked at the Canyon BSU for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004; two sisters, Willie Sue Poarch and Era Chloe Thompson; and two brothers, Lloyd Sharpley and Rev. Dan Sharpley. Survivors include four sons, Larry Prichard and wife, Lynn, of Boys Ranch, Ben Prichard and wife, Gina, of Alvin, Frank Prichard, of Canyon, Ted Prichard, of San Antonio; two grandchildren, Samantha James and husband, Casey, Jordan Skains; two great grandchildren; sister, Betty Knighton and husband, Bill, of Lindale; two brothers, Bill Sharpley, of Tyler, Ben Sharpley and wife, Sue, of Corsicana. The family suggests memorials to Palo Duro Retirement Village Activity Fund, 9 Hospital Drive, Canyon, TX 79015.
