Ruth Bednorz

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 15 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Daniel Dreher, Director and Chaplain of Campus Ministries, officiating. Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery. Ruth was born August 31, 1934 in Raytown, Missouri to Calvin and Ethel Groves. She married Alfred "Fritz" Bednorz in 1949 at Kansas City, Missouri. Ruth loved to travel, she and Fritz traveled to Colorado every summer and south Texas every winter. Ruth enjoyed country western music, playing cards, and reading books. In her younger years, she enjoyed crochet and knitting. Ruth was a member of St. Ann"s Catholic Church in Canyon. Ruth is survived by her husband, Alfred "Fritz" Bednorz, of Canyon; daughter, Debra Lyn Bednorz, of Canyon; and two sons, Alfred S. Bednorz, Jr., of Amarillo, and Gary Don Bednorz, of Annandale, New Jersey. The family suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
