Rosanna Olson

Memorial services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andy Blair, pastor, officiating. Rosanna M. Olson was born on November 8, 1921 in San Antonio to William and Rose Wellinghurst McAnneny. She married Fredrick K. Olson in 1943 at Randolph Field. In 1962 they moved to Canyon and were active in the First Presbyterian Church, where she and Fred were instrumental in starting a Mariner's group. In 1977 she and Fred traveled extensively for Presbyterian Major Mission. They then bought a home in Wisconsin where they spent six months every year for the next twelve years. All the family enjoyed summers at Lake Kentuck. Rosanna was a caregiver and homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon, Presbyterian Women's Group, bridge clubs, and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Neblett Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Olson, two brothers, three sisters, and a grandson, Charles Nester. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Lou Nester and husband, Chuck, Kay Larkin and husband, Ron, and Rosanne Ham and husband, Charlie; eight grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the First Presbyterian Church, 904 19th St., Canyon, TX 79015.
