Ronnie Stewart

Services will be 2:00 Monday, June 3 at Brooks Chapel with Howard Morris, officiating. Interment will be in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Ronnie Stewart was born March 22, 1940 in Borger, Texas to Tommy and Alene Stewart. After graduating from Borger High School he joined the U.S. Air Force. Ronnie worked for 13 years as the Produce Manager at Cut Rate Foods in Phillips, Texas and then spent several years working at Palo Duro Hospital in Canyon. He was a member of the University Church of Christ in Canyon. Ronnie had many loves: the mountains, good food, westerns, horse races, flying, but loved traveling to Santa Fe, New Mexico most of all to see the Loretto Chapel. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Franklin Stewart, in 1984 and an infant brother, Ronald Dwight, in 1939. Survivors include his mother, Alene, of Amarillo; two brothers, Terry M. Stewart, and wife, Cindy, of Canyon, Kip Stewart, of Galveston; three nephews; and by the love of his life and best buddy his niece, Cassi Stewart, of Amarillo. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, 845 Third Avenue, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10022 or to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
