Ronald "Ron" "Papa" Reynolds

Ronald "Ron" Ray Reynolds, 79, of Canyon passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 15, 2023 at Hillside Christian Church, Amarillo West Campus, Chapel with Greg Corona officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Ron was born June 8, 1944 in Borger, Texas to Chester and Frances (Rhodes) Reynolds. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1962 and attended West Texas A&M University.

Ron married Kay Boydston at the JA Hill Chapel in Canyon on September 6, 1964. They recently celebrated 59 wonderful years together.

Ron worked for Diamond Shamrock as a traffic manager until 1985. He continued his trucking management career working for Center Plains Industries, Jack B. Kelly Trucking, and finally with Groendyke Trucking, retiring in 2006.

He was an active member of the Canyon Country Club where he served as the President for 4 terms, the acting President of the Fishermen's Class at Hillside Christian Church, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Ron was a fan of many sports, especially golf and baseball and he never gave up on the Dallas Cowboys.
Ron loved his family dearly. He doted on his daughter, granddaughters, great granddaughter, his one loving son-in-law and two grandson-in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Frances Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Reynolds; daughter, Wende Belyeu and husband, Chad of Umbarger, granddaughters, Conner Adair and husband, Alex, and Katie Crozier and husband, Trey both of Canyon; great granddaughter, Raegan Crozier; brother, Bill Reynolds and wife, Yolande of Grand Rapids, Michigan; nieces, Kari Brock and husband Martin; Mindy Douglas and husband Brad, both of Amarillo; Vanessa Reynolds-Umstead, and husband Nathan of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Jennifer Reynolds of the Paris Region, France, and several great nieces and nephews.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th, Ste. 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.
