Ronald 'Butch' Boehning
October 29, 1944 — July 31, 2021
Ronald 'Butch' Boehning, 76, of Canyon, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Dr. David Lowrie, pastor of First Baptist Church of Decatur and Mike Kuhlman officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.
Butch was born on October 29, 1944 in Canyon, Texas to Leonard and Ruby (Bentley) Boehning. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1963 and married Almeda Tidwell at the Methodist Church in Canyon in 1964. Butch farmed and ranched in the Canyon area all his life and was known for his extremely strong work ethic, which he passed on to his boys and grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed working the Canyon, Amarillo, and Tulia Livestock Sales over the years. Butch was a member of the First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Bible Searchers Sunday School Class, a group he held dear.
His greatest loves were his wife, his sons, and his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and faithfully supported each one in all their endeavors. He also loved farming and ranching, and Holstein heifers.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Krista Boehning, sister, Arlene Southard, and brother, Gerald Boehning. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Almeda Boehning; two sons, Shawn Boehning and wife, Lisa, and Tony Boehning and wife, Renee, all of Canyon; seven grandchildren, Chance Rowland Boehning of Colorado Springs, CO, Maecie Boehning, Brodie Boehning, Luke Boehning, Beau Boehning, Lexi Boehning, and Brett Boehning, all of Canyon; one brother, Delbert Boehning and wife, Bonnie, of Moorehead, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
