Roland Morse

Roland Morse, 80, of Canyon passed away January 17, 2018 in Edgewood, NM. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 20 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Steve Olsen, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel.  Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Roland was born September 15, 1937 in Mason, OK. His parents were Kize Morse and Ethal Long Morse.  Roland served as a paratrooper in the US Army with the 101 Airborne Division.  He was stationed in Fort Campbell, KY. He married Mae Donaldson on October 6, 1957. He retired as a Supervisor at Diamond Shamrock after 35 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon and the Palo Duro Golf Course. He loved playing golf and was an avid athlete. Family was very important to him. Working hard to provide for his family was his top priority.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jake, Harvy, Roy, and Floyd; and a sister Norvetta Roberson. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mae Morse; daughter Linda Bose and husband David of Hays, KS; son Ronnie Morse and wife Kim of Tijeras, NM; 6 grandchildren, Danielle Murray and husband Travis of Salina, KS, Eric Bose and wife Sarah of Hays, KS, Kris Atchison and husband James of Plainsville, KS, Mitchell Morse and wife Jessica of Albuquerque, NM, Mindy Morse of Albuquerque, NM, and Mathew Morse of Tijeras, NM; 9 great-grandchildren, Beckett and Payson Murray, Addison and Morgan Bose, Kinley and Grant Atchison, Jaden, Ivy and Miles Morse.
