Mass will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. Ann"s Catholic Church with Rev. Phu Phan, pastor, officiating. Vigil will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Roberto Arturo Rueda was born on February 23, 1938 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Roberto Arturo and Sara Morales Rueda. He was a graduate of Eagle Pass High School. He met Judith Alicia Cortez in San Diego, CA and they married on May 30, 1964. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2003. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for six years in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of St. Ann"s Catholic Church and was very active in supporting all aspects of the church, including the construction and renovation projects. Besides being a loving family man, Roberto was also an avid fisherman, artist, sailor, and a devoted father and husband. Survivors include four children, Judith Rueda, of Baton Rouge, LA, Robert Rueda, of Lubbock, Roland Rueda, of Lubbock, and Rick Rueda, of Canyon; five loving Grandchildren who were the light of his life, Calvin Rueda, Madilyn Rueda, Lauren Rueda, Hannah Rueda, and Robbie Rueda; sister, Julia Rueda Ortiz, of Detroit, MI; sister-in-law, Evangeline Gonzales of San Antonio; and brother-in-law, Richard Barrientes, of San Antonio. The family suggests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 50433, Amarillo, Texas 79159, or the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, Texas 79109.
