Roberta Moore

July 14, 1925 — February 9, 2015

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 11, 2014 at Brooks Chapel with Dan Wisecup and Brian Jagielski officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 8, 2015 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery. Roberta C. Moore was born on July 14, 1925 in Montague County, Texas to Thomas and Dovie Reed Box. She spent her early years on a farm east of Happy and loved horses and farming. She married Lawrence Moore in Tulia on November 21, 1942, and he preceded her in death in 1989. She moved from Midwest City, Oklahoma to Canyon in 1996. Roberta was a key member of the Engelbert Humperdinck Fan Club and was a close friend to him and his family. She also enjoyed artwork. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Ritchey and Velma Scott, and one brother, Ernest Box. Survivors include her daughter, Naomi Wooten and husband, Bill, of Lubbock; her son, Ronnie Moore and wife, Judy, of Canyon; five grandchildren, Chad Moore and wife, Halen, of Canyon, Brant Moore and wife, Angie, of Canyon, Natalie Rath and husband, Charles, of Las Vegas, NV, Pam Beavers and husband, Mike, of Harrah, OK, and Jay Vaught and wife, Kelly, of Edmond, OK; eleven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a cousin and special friend, Colleen Schaeffer. The family suggests memorials be to the patients of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, in care of Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106, or Wayside Cemetery, PO Box 155, Wayside, Texas 79094.
