Robert Dorris

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with Mr. Roman Asbill, Director of Discipleship, officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. Robert G. 'Bobby' Dorris was born on February 27, 1945 in Canyon to Glenn and Zora Ellison Dorris and was a graduate of Canyon High School. He was a highway patrolman for twelve years and then owned and operated Dorris Garage in Canyon for more than thirty years. He was mechanically inclined and loved anything to do with mechanics. He also enjoyed welding and water sports. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canyon. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sister, Patsy Nicks and husband, Jim, of Denton; his son, Ken Dorris and wife, Amy, of Amarillo; his daughter, Bobbie Jean Place and husband, Pete, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Eric Dorris and Ashley Place; and two nieces, Missy Nicks and Andrea Cortez.
