Robert John Byers, 67, of Bushland, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020.
Robert was born on December 16, 1952 in Lowell, Massachusetts to Frank B. and Pauline W. Byers. He married Liza Coldren in Bushland, Texas.
He was "Bobby" to every family member and friend that he had. Bobby started playing the guitar at age 12 and was a life-long musician. He mastered the guitar and played jazz, rock and classical guitar. Bobby was an avid reader and also a self-educator. His love of learning had no bounds. He was very much into politics, and he loved debating and proving his points, which everyone will miss dearly. Bobby was also an accomplished chef. He loved to prepare meals for his family, and this love of food always brought everyone together.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Liza, his parents, Frank and Pauline Byers, his aunt, Elisabeth Byers, and his sister, Marcia Burns. Survivors include his girlfriend, Ramona Minton; brothers, Frank Byers and wife, Carol, and Chris Byers and wife, Traci; his aunt Alexandra Graham; and children, Tiffany Lott and husband, Brent, Mozelle Byers, Nicholas Byers, Henry Byers, Frank Byers, and Malcolm Byers; and grandchildren, Sophia and Chloe Lott, and Kai Byers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th, Ste. 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.
