Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Brooks Chapel with Deacon Bill Dorsey officiating. Burial will be private. Robert Branum was born on December 1, 1946 to Sheldon and Jessie Hawthorn Branum in Memphis, Texas. He married Terri Conley on May 21, 1982. He worked as an iron worker and built TV towers before opening Branum Trucking and Panhandle Harvesters where sons, Kevin, Brandon, and daughter, Kellie are continuing the family business. Robert enjoyed collecting classic cars and loved his kids and grandkids, who gave him immeasurable joy. He was a hard worker and felt very close and loyal to all of his customers. He was always there for his employees and was looked up to by everyone he worked with. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Sheldon Branum. Survivors include his mother, Jessie Alston; wife, Terri Branum; son, Bob Branum and wife, of McKinney, TX; daughter, Kellie Branum, of Canyon; son, Kevin Branum and wife, Leandra, of Canyon; son, Justin Broce, of Austin; son, Brandon Finke and wife, Tina, of Canyon; eleven grandkids; two great-grandkids; two brothers, Ronald and Jerry Alston; and a sister, Tanja Watts, of Memphis. The family suggests memorials be to the Wellington Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, 1504 Eighth Street, Wellington, Texas, 79095.
