Rick Moldenhauer, 70, of Canyon, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Brooks Chapel with David Timmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Brooks Chapel.
Rick was born on May 13, 1955 in Amarillo to Clarence and Lilly Mae (Boone) Moldenhauer. The family moved to Canyon in 1969 where he attended Canyon High School. He worked in construction and retired from Mueller, Inc. in 2024. One of his biggest accomplishments besides his family was building his dream house, built out of metal studs by his own two hands which was affectionately known as ‘The Big House.’
Rick had a big heart and was willing to help anyone in need. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals and dearly loved his dog, June, aka, Junebug. His family will deeply miss Saturday morning donuts, a tradition he started when his girls were young, and has continued with his grandchildren.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Cathy Fields and Karen Dove, a niece, Rebecca Dove, and his father-in-law, George Bulman.
Survivors include his daughters, Adriane Moldenhauer of Canyon, Amanda George and husband, Tommy of Amarillo, Abby Moldenhauer of Canyon, and Anna Moldenhauer of Canyon; five grandchildren, Avery Smith and husband, Aaron, Nick Morris and wife, Jaci, Lilly George, Kenny Brown, and Kolton Brown and wife, Courtney; one great grandson, Lukas Smith; four siblings that said he was a great brother, Carla Watson and husband, Roy of Lake Texoma, Jerry Moldenhauer and wife, Linda, of Canyon, Alan Moldenhauer and wife, Tama of Canyon, and Randy Moldenhauer and wife, Brenda of Carriere, MS; mother-in-law, Lou Bulman of Canyon; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
