Ray Hawkins

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 3, 2003 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dumas, officiating. Mr. Hawkins was born on August 10, 1912 in Turkey, Texas to James and May Wood Hawkins. He has been a Canyon resident since 1931. He married Verda Gem Clark in Canyon in 1934. She preceded him in death on September 13, 1988. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Canyon. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Todd Hawkins, in 1993. Survivors include four sons, Alan R. Hawkins, and wife, Trudy, of Dumas, David C. Hawkins, and wife, Jean, of Dumas, Phillip C. Hawkins, and wife, Susie, of Artesia, NM, and Don E. Hawkins, and wife, Ann, of Dumas; special friends, Bessie Beard, of Dumas Nursing Center and Virgie L. Hawkins, of Canyon; sister-in-law, Betty Morrison, and husband, Gene, of Canyon; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
