Phil Magness

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 12 at the First Baptist Church of Happy with Mike Kuhlman, officiating. Interment will be at Happy Cemetery. Phil Magness was born July 16, 1938 in Tulia to Bert and Clara Magness. He graduated from Happy High School and West Texas State University. He married Jody McCarley of Happy. Phil worked for JI Case Company for 28 years. He worked the past 27 years with his wife at Jody Magness Insurance Agency. He enjoyed traveling to Lake Tahoe and Albuquerque and loved all kinds of sports, especially Canyon Lady Eagles basketball. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Jody Magness, of Canyon; a daughter, Aletha Magness, of Canyon; a brother, Don Magness, of Happy; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
