He was a good steward of the land. He was a recipient of the 1998 Randall County Outstanding Result Demonstrator Award. This single recognition summed up his lifetime dedication to farming. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church for 60 years. One of Pete's greatest accomplishments was going to work every day. He loved driving a tractor up until his final days. Pete was loved by many. He rarely knew a stranger and had a gift of making everyone think they were the most special. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, an infant brother, one sister and one brother. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Catherine; eight children, Sue Weston and husband, Randy, Joann McDonald and husband, Donnie, Betty Ray and husband, Raymond, Ken Fischbacher and wife, Anita, Rhonda Melugin and husband, Terry, Patty Frerich and husband, Danny, Debbie Bigelow and husband, Randy, and Jim Fischbacher and wife, Tracy; fifteen grandchildren: Jackson Weston, Julie Lockman, Joshua McDonald, Crystal Fischbacher, Jill Reinert, Tyler Fischbacher, Natalie Melugin, Britney Starr, Colby Frerich, Matthew Bigelow, Grainger Fischbacher, Garrison Fischbacher, Tucker Fischbacher, Kaylee Dunn, and Emilee Fischbacher; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Tillie Klein, Mary Brorman, and Anita Wilhelm; and two brothers, Marcel Fischbacher, and Joe Fischbacher.
