Pearl Huxley

November 28, 1944 — September 2, 2015

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Canyon with Shane Whitten and Arlen Meng officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Pearl Almyra Huxley was known for her beautiful red hair and her witty personality. She was a young spirit at heart and never let age or illness steal that away from her. She had the courage in her twenties to leave her family and everything she knew to move to Mexico where she learned the language and culture. There she became a mom to her three surviving daughters, Dorelen Rasor, Sandra Brady and Joanna Hamm. After returning to make her forever home in Canyon, she raised her daughters to be just as strong-willed and feisty as she was, or so their husbands say. She instilled good work ethic from the very beginning with her own hard work and determination. Her kind heart radiated and anyone that knew her, loved her and knew what an amazing woman she was. Pearl also enjoyed seeing the world and had many experiences visiting over seas and enjoying beautiful scenery throughout her life. After being diagnosed with Stage 4 renal cell cancer eight years ago, she never gave up. With the unfaltering love and care of her devoted surviving husband, Chet Huxley, she was able to beat the odds and fight the illness for longer than any patient her doctor knew with this type of cancer in such an advanced state. He called her his "miracle patient". Through pain and weakness you would not hear her complaints; she was not one to feel sorry for herself, but one to look at the bright side of all circumstances. Pearl was born on November 28, 1944 and began her eternal life on September 2, 2015. She will forever be in the hearts and memories of her surviving husband, daughters, her stepchildren, Chester Huxley, Debbie Pace, and Kristine Huxley, and all the family and friends that were blessed to know this incredible beauty. Her spirit will be carried on by her grandchildren that adored and cherished their loving grandma.
