Paul Ashby

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 21 at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean with Rev. Gene Jones, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church of Canyon, officiating. Paul Gene Ashby was born June 20, 1931 in Shamrock to Paul and Thelma Hickman Ashby. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 35 years of employment with perfect attendance. Paul was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Amarillo. He was a wonderful organist, pianist, and accordionist. He was also a sculptor and artist. He loved to garden and taught Sunday School. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; mother, Thelma, and a daughter, Linda. He is survived by two grandsons, Jason and Joshua Barsi. The family suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
