Patsy King

June 21, 1933 — September 15, 2018

Patsy Ruth Lane King was able to set aside her earthly body to be present in spirit with her Savior on September 15, 2018. She was born on June 21, 1933 in Waco, Texas to Eddie and Grace Lane. The Lane family later moved to Muleshoe where Pat met and married the love of her life, Charles King, son of Charles and Audie King.  Pat and Charles were married for 60 years had three children; Billy Charles King, Delinda Lane King, and Cynthia Denise Simpson.             Charles and Pat lovingly embraced numerous friends and were faithful members of a church, wherever they lived. Over their married life, they made a home in Lariat, Farwell, Bovina, and Dimmitt before buying the Marina at White River Lake.  For health reasons they eventually moved to Lubbock until they retired in Canyon in to be near their daughters. They were blessed with eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great child.             Pat's life was spent in loving service to her family.  She also received great joy from her friends and from church service.  She firmly believed that God was, as scripture promises, "able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes" (Eph 3:20).             Pat often stated that her greatest hope and purpose in life was to see that her children, grandchildren, and their children were believers in, and followers of, Jesus Christ.  Her family considers her job well done and will miss her earthy prayers and support. In the last couple of years, as her health declined, she often spoke about going home to Heaven and what she hoped those left behind would remember. Claiming an imperfect life, she asked that, above all, she would be remembered for her love for them and for her Lord.  She mentioned her legacy in three Bible verses:             "You must love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, and with ALL your might" (from Deuteronomy 6:5).             "Keep these commandments carefully in mind. Tie them to your hand to remind you to obey them. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are sitting at home, when you are walking, at bedtime, and before breakfast" (from Deuteronomy 11:18).             And finally, from Ephesians 4:1, "Live and act in a way worthy of those who have been chosen. Be humble and gentle.  Be patient with each other, making allowances for each other's faults because of your love.  Try always to be led along together by the Holy Spirit, and so be at peace with each other."             Among those waiting for her in Heaven were her parents, her husband, her son Billy, and her grandsons, Matthew Alsup and Michael Grant.  Her reunion with them must have paled in comparison to the joy experienced at meeting her Savior.             Delinda and Cindy want to express their overwhelming gratitude for the long hours and hard work provided on their mother's behalf by the family and friends. They ask for continued prayer that the standard set by Pat by her life and her faith will be continued until we meet her again.            In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to YWAM/Ben and Tiffany Cowan, 7085 Battle Creek SE, Salem, Oregon 97317, www.ywamsalem.org .            The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19 at the Bailey County Cemetery in Muleshoe. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.
