Orville Harris

Services will be 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Canyon with Rev. Clark Williams, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas with Jerry Burke, officiating. Orville L. Harris was born December 1, 1922 to James and Holland Harris in Haskell County, Texas. He married Doris U. Minick at Bryan on July 11, 1943. They previously resided in Lubbock and Floydada before moving to Canyon in 2002. Harris retired as a vocational agriculture teacher after 26 years of service and retired after 18 years of service from the Lubbock Appraisal Office. He took much pride and enjoyment in his work and friends he made. Upon retiring he continued to enjoy his life-long interest in antique collecting and especially enjoyed spending more time with family and grandchildren. Survivors include, his son, Troy Harris and wife, Pauletten of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Tamera Fall and husband, Jaime of Sacramento, CA, Melissa Jones and husband, Dan of Canyon, and Terri J. Harris of San Francisco. CA; four great grandchildren, Abbey and Autry Jones and Lily and Lani Fall; one sister, and one brother.
